We've brought over all of the favourites and bookmarks from the old site and turned them into follows. Here are some details:
- All favourites or bookmarks to users who have set their account to "you approve all followers" in preferences were ignored. They were not turned into follow requests.
- Any favourites or bookmarks that would have violated blocks were also ignored.
- Users who have been followed due to this change will not get notifications or notification emails for the new follows (because otherwise some members or SGs would receive thousands of emails). Now that they are created, however, the new follows are like any other and will appear on your "people who follow you" page.
- This change may cause the "number of follows" count displayed on every member's profile to be inaccurate for a while.
- We recently updated the "people you follow" page to make it easier to unfollow members, so if you find that you are now following too many people, you can use that page to remove some of them. You can get there by clicking on the number after the word "Following" on your profile page.
- As always, if you would like to remove someone's follow towards you, you can go to their profile page, block them, and then (optionally) unblock them.
