I've had a pretty crappy day, to say the least. It started out good, I got to clean my house (I actually love doing that), and I played a little WoW. Then I checked my myspace. I get an email from my sister. Her cervical cancer is back.
It all started when she was 15, she ended up having part of her cervix removed, and wasn't supposed to be able to have any children. Yet she carried 3 babies full term. Before her second child, my beautiful niece, she was diagnosed with Stage 3 cervical cancer. They wanted her to abort but she refused, and we got gorgeous, feisty Tori. After she was born, the cancer was miraculously gone.
Since she doesn't have health insurance, she has to wait to get a biopsy to see how bad it is. Yeah, cause telling someone they have cancer, then telling they have to wait over a MONTH to see how bad it is and to start treatment because they don't have insurance is SO fucking intelligent! What happened to "First do no harm"?!
On top of it all, the economy is REALLY breaking their bank, seeing as how no one is buying tattoos, they don't pay for someone to go to nursing school, and her van has so many problems that "aren't covered under the warranty"... yeah cause it's normal for the speedometer needle to spike all the way around and get stuck UNDER the pin! And for the hoses and valves to rot on an almost brand new van!
I just... I can't wrap my brain around it.
