Bittersweet day.
Miss Roxy was able to find a happy home. I'm happy that we found a family that seemed genuinely excited and happy to have her but sad we couldn't keep her ourselves. Stella and Roxy both approved of them so that definitely made it easier on us.
Stella seems to be ok, but we will see how tomorrow goes.
I honestly didn't think we would find someone so soon because she is a pit. People are so prejudice against the breed. Any of the postings I put up on craigslist got flagged and removed minutes later, and just because she was a pit bull. The only way her new owner found out about her is because I created a whole new listing that called her a mix breed and even that one got flagged and removed by one of the people responded. (I of course came clean in the response with her true breed and they flagged it.) Stupid ignorant bastards.
One positive out of the whole ordeal is the gentleman who answered the ad was really excited about her. He actually said that growing up he was always scared of pit bulls, but due to meeting some pit mixes that were awesome, he changed his mind and realized that it was the owners, not the breed. This made me super happy. I definitely think I want to get back into the rescue field, and absolutely with pits.

People are so dumb, there is no dog out there that is any worse any the other, it is bad owners that makes mad dogs, its just that a lot of mean people have wanted pit bulls, Im thinking about getting a bullmastiff and people feel the same way about them because they are so big and because some have attacked people, but from what I hear the dog that attack kids the most is Dalmatians, but I could be wrong.
