18 years ago today we got married at city hall. it was sort of a dare. we had only known each other two weeks. i just wanted a punk rock boyfriend.
now its been half my life. crazy

And I would go to assume that it at least partially stems from the fact people will consciously comment on/be critical with/desire/uphold/etc one thing that they subconsciously know they lack.
Hrm..I can't think of a better way to explain it right now and I know that's extremely lacking. I guess an example would just be the classic hypocrite, who says one thing he might honestly believe but doesn't/can't uphold himself. Or you being angry yet still looking for that approval...
Well, this all still feels very lacking as far as making a point goes...
