I am way behind on this site. I think I have at least a month's worth of photosets to pick through. Maybe more.
The reason (aside from the trip) is my decision to give notice and end my 10-year tenure at my job. I won't be done there until July, but I will be changing my "Occupation" blurb from "Composer" to "Songwriter/Producer". It will be good to be working for myself, but damn it's a lot of work. I feel seriously beat down.
Speaking of making music, our trip to Norway has tripped a resurgent interest in metal for me.
Not that it ever really waned, but I've never been what you could call a metalhead. The issue I have with a lot of metal today is that (if it's not nu-metal) the singer end up either screeching, or grumbling in a sub-frequency genderless voice (I didn't recognize Arch enemy at first when it came up in my iPod...ouch).
I do like Lacuna Coil, but that's too far in the other direction. Slow.
Well, I should be working on my next record pretty soon. I'll make it heavier. I don't know that it will be "metal" necessarily, but it will "rawk".
