I've been a part of DeviantArt for a few years and after going through the statistics on my page I can see that my followers there generally prefer the self shot photos that I take over the professional pictures that I've posted lately due to my modeling. After analyzing all of the info it made me curious, what do followers on here prefer?
I adore professional sets, the lighting is perfect and the pictures end up looking flawless, but I actually prefer self taken photos to professional ones and not just when it comes to MY photos. I'm not talking about sexy selfies where the person is holding the camera at arms length, I'm talking about photos where the self timer is used and the person is posing for their own camera. I find I prefer these types of photos because it's incredibly intimate. That person is alone, has an image they want to convey and/or are feeling sexy and fun and they want to share that with others through images. Sure, there can be a lot of flaws in a picture like that, but you get to see pure and raw emotion coming from them, there's no one there trying to interpret the emotion, feeling, mood, etc.
So, what about you guys? Which do you prefer? Which do you find yourself spending more time looking at?
