Ever get a song that sticks in your head for days?

Somehow it starts off as catchy and strangely compelling, especially one specific line.
Then a few days in, with it looping continuously in your mental soundtrack, it is no longer so cool.
You start to dread that one frikkin line that has slowly lost all meaning as it hovers over you like
a dark ominous cloud. In a dark place nearby, evil clowns and multi-legged fanged creatures
wait while that song plays again. You are suddenly terrified that if you don't figure it out soon the song will consume you. Desperately you rack your diminishing thought patterns for some sort of cohesion.

What was the lyricist trying to say in the first place?
Did they even have a grasp of the English language?
Those words just don't make sense!
The discordant sound of long claws drawing ever closer to you scrapes across the soundtrack.
Panicking now you scramble for an answer and become angry at your fate.
Did they take into account that it could potentially stick in some poor soul's head to drive them irreversibly insane?! You begin to babble incoherently in time with the beat. The darkness closes in......

Currently the bane of my musical existence is "Criminal Mind" by (Lawrence) Gowan.

Somehow it's gone from genius to maniacal in a 24 hour period. I know (and I am sure most of you would agree with me) on a good day I have a thin grasp of reality anyway.
But I'm losing it completely here people!!!

So! Here's a challenge for today:
Tell me what song drove you to new horizons of mental instability.

oh, absolutely. i mean, i'm not too worried about getting a job, because i work as a waitress now and i think that'd be easy to land, but last time i moved out there it was without enough money to sustain me and things got pretty pathetic. i want to avoid that this go round!!

It's the price you pay to live in a paradise! So worth it though! I used to live on Vancouver Island, in a tiny village called Brentwood Bay. It was a 15 minute bike ride from Butchart Gardens. What a dream place it was. smile
