Hello hello all! Greeting you now is a woman in a new mood... I've been doing very well lately. Lots of support from friends has lifted me out of my post-breakup slum and sweet emails from a special someone have me souped. Not to mention the billy bragg show is only 3 weeks away (hurrah!) On top of that I got the biggest honor ever from my wonderful urban studies department when I got nominated to for a senior work award (definately feel I've earned it, we'll see if I actually get it) a humanitarian award (eh, don't deserve that one nearly as much as some other people around campus) and as a speaker at the graduation (i have to submit an outline of my speech and 'audition' in front of a faculty board-scary, but i'll definately give it a go) So that's nice to know that they appreciate me at my wonderful little college.
I've also been working really hard with my internships. Luckily the (Left Forum will be over with in slightly more than a week, which is refreshing cuz I need to put my focus back onto senior work, which I feel I must have a complete draft by April 1st... we'll see, its gonna require some tense weekends and all-nighters, but I'm excited about it nonetheless. At WEDO I've been researching American Apparel lately, can I just say that their CEO is THE biggest SLEAZEBALL I've ever heard of... no concept of what feminism or sexual harassment is or what it means to be a woman of today. But I don't think anyone should boycott them, just write letters explaining how such a sexually charged work environment can make women workers uncomfortable, not to mention its downright disrespectful to conflate women with sex toys, which he seems to do like all the time. Anyway, just my bit on American Apparel, but hey, I like the clothes as much as anybody else... I just wish it wasn't an option between women in developing countries being treated like machines, or American women having no other option but sexual harassment... It's like saying "if you're an American woman you deserve to get paid well, but you better damn well know you're gonna be sexually harassed."

She mentions you frequently, so I figure you're probably good people.
