i guess it's time for another update.....
my labrets are doing fine now, everything turned out good with them, and i'm loving them now. thinking about getting my septum done sometime in the near future, and probably gonna get my lobes stretched again, too.....probably either to 10ga or 8ga, up from 12ga. trying to decide on whether or not i want to go with 14ga or 12ga for the septum....maybe even 10ga.
i went to see Megadeth in Houston on Apr. 17....that was a kickass show! i've been wanting to see them live ever since i first started listening to them about 20 years ago or so, and finally got the chance to do it. my only regret is that i was never able to see them in their heyday, back when they had what i consider their all-time best lineup: Dave Mustaine, David Ellefson, Nick Menza, & Marty Friedman. that was like the "dream team" for Megadeth, in my opinion.
i bought some new wheels for my car, but they were made with the wrong backspacing, so they didn't fit right....they stuck out of the wheel wells by around 2". but the company i bought them from arranged for the wheels to be picked up and shipped back, and they're going to either fix or replace them for me, so it's all good....i just gotta wait a little longer is all. i'm still kinda bummed about not having them, though, because the front 2 tires (that used to be on the rear) are showing cords, so driving in the rain can get a little hairy.
i just recently found out about an instrument that is widely used in Indian music (as in east Indian, not native american Indian) called the sitar. it's and awesome instrument, and people who can play them well have to be extremely talented. here's a couple of videos that give me goosebumps when i'm watching/listening to them play....and Anoushka Shankar is an extremely gorgeous woman, too:
Anoushka Shankar - Your Eyes
Sitar Practice - Bhimpalasi Fast Tintal
i'm finding it refreshing to hear music from other cultures, after having listened mostly to only American music for most of my life. i'm trying to broaden my horizons and experience new things, and hopefully, this is just the tip of the iceberg.
