well, i guess it may be time to finally get around to making an update here....
i didn't really do much for t-giving, we just had a small dinner at home and watched some movies and stuff...but it was still nice having t-giving off of work this year...i've had to work the past couple years.
then i had an awesome vacation during the x-mas/new year's holidays, 12 consecutive days off work! and it still seemed to end too quickly....that's the only part that really sucks about it. no matter how long you have off of work, it never seems to REALLY be enough.
i went down to the TX coast and did some fishing, but didn't even catch anything, except a sunburn. how crazy is that, you can go fishing in December in and get a sunburn? fucking TX weather....IT'S WINTER, DAMMIT! i spent x-mas and a few days afterwards with some of my family near the coast.
i'm curently trying to find the best rates on car insurance, because i let my insurance expire a while back, and now my previous company won't cover me anymore....and full coverage is not cheap to begin with on my car (2002 Camaro Z28).
i'm extremely happy to see new sets from Aosoth (although i missed the actual day the set was released, after waiting patiently for several months...), and today's new set from London (the beautiful, blue-haired goddess). now i just wish Melody would get something new up, she deserves more coverage (or UNcoverage, as it were
).
i traded my rear projection HDTV for a new LCD TV, and it is awesome. it's not near as big (27" widescreen vs. 51" widescreen), but the brightness on it is a lot better, and there's no glare screen on the front of it that picks up EVERY reflection like the old one did. also, my old set only did 480p & 1080i, when presented with a 720p signal, it would downconvert it to 480p instead of upconverting it to 1080i. my LCD TV will display 720p in native res, and will display 480p also (with good picture quality, too), although it downconverts 1080i to 720p (native resolution is 1280x720). and one of the best things about it, is that it has a DVI and VGA connector and drivers written for it, so that it can be used as a computer monitor.
awesome!
i still wish i could just win the lotto....it would make life so much easier, especially with the things that have been going on in my life lately....i could use a reprieve from that for a change.....
