Ever go to update because you've decided it is that time only to find you have nothing to say? It's almost as if I expect to assume the position and run off a stream of profundity about recent goings on and my frame of mind. That only happens when I'm drunk, and generally the morning after, despite my previous surity, it proves to be a steaming pile of it.
But I do have things to say, news and such. Mother gets married on Saturday. It's going to be quite a do. Top hat and tails and all that. What fun! As well as looking like a prize turkey I will also be giving her away. Buyer beware, sold as is, no returns.
As well as three to four hundred people there will be a free bar at the reception. I'm not sure her future husband has thought that through very well considering I'm from a drinking family and how many of my freinds are going to be there.
I don't mean there's 10k behind the bar, I mean literally, free bar. Oh yes. Appletons 21 here I come.
In other news last week I visited Arundel Castle to deliver a set of 20 Georgian dinner plates I sold to the Duke of Norfolk. Got taken round their vault. Holy shit do they have some silver. I did feel a bit cheeky selling him his own plates back, but hey! He's good for the money.
I also had a meeting with the curator of the Boston Museum of Fine Art. I emailed her since we recently bought something very special. It took some convincing to get the boss to let me have a go with it, but I think next time I ask to do something similar he won't put up much resistance. Really good kit belongs in museums, but this isn't an idea he understands or is aquainted with.
And I'm about to undertake a project of my own, it being that time of year again. I hope to suppliment my earnings somewhat over the next few months, which should be useful for the future.
For those of you who know my big plan it is still on the cards, only slightly trickier than it was previously. I think we're looking at a 6 month wait at least, but I'm in no hurry. I'm eager to learn as much as I can about the business I am in currently before I move on. It is fun, I like it, and I somehow doubt I'm ever going to restrict myself to just one way of making money.
