Just saw on the new that a ten year old girl got handcuffed for bringing scissors to school...what kind world are we living in, where kids can't go to school without being treated like prisoners. I don't understand what people in our society are always so afraid of. Perhaps if we spent less time being afraid of other cultures, children, people who look and think differently from us, we would make some progress on bringing about hope in the world...it pisses me off that children are now brought up in fear, and have no time to just be children. This is what drives me to work with children. If I can at least empower some kids out there, perhaps there will be hope.
