i think you should be motivated just to buildup a cash reserve in some kind of savings type of account, since having one allows you to know that in case something happens you've got yourself covered.


$8000 for a computer is a little high, maybe you or someone you know is good at them and could build one for far less - that is buying the case and components over the internet and putting it all together.
