I'M IN THE CLEAR (for now)
Two years ago I had some pretty standard tests that all girls have every few years, but there was something a little bit wrong with mine. Anyway - they were just like, well often this level of wrongness goes away on it's own, because it was pretty mild. So, we'll test again in three months.
In that three months my wrongness went from like only a tiny little bit wrong to, woah, this is the most wrongest thing ever, and I had to have a whole bunch of surgery and other sorts of fun things.
Anyway - after all that was done, they (obviously) do a whole bunch of follow up tests. Since then I've had quite a few little tests, like - every three months or so, but then three big huge let's test everything possible tests. All of them had been fine and my doctor has in the past just phone to say, "it's fine, I'll see you in three months" (or..."it's fine, but you're due for x vaccine/blood test/something unrelated or whatever, so come in when you can"). I just had my last of the three big ones about a week and a half ago, and my doctors secretary rings and goes, "Come in, he wants to see you about your results." Naturally, I totally shat myself, becuase he's always just said over the phone that I was fine, and no need to worry.
WELL - I went in today, and he just wanted to see me to explain what the next step is, because obviously as with all cancer there is always a chance it will come back, so you have to be careful. But for now, I'm all good. I have to keep having regular mini-tests (but one every 6 months) but I don't have to have another big test for a whole year!
Even though I've been having "fine" tests for a while, I feel like this is it, this is the moment when I can really go, "I don't have X anymore!" (when I get drunk, that will probably turn into, "I'm a survivor!!!")
