I can't wait to get out of Portland. This is the only city that I have lived in that gives me a general creeped out feeling after dark. Not meaning I am scared of Portland, just left with a bad taste. With the way today began and the mood it seems to be ending finding motivation to pack faster will not be an issue.
Mice have been an problem in my apartment for months. I can't use my stove because they were living and pooping in it and we threw our couch out after finding two living in it. Today I woke up to blood that had been tracked under my fridge. I feel bad enough having to resort to traps and then my lanlord couldn't find the poor thing. My stove is being thrown out tomorrow.
As far as tonight goes, I'm just feeling off and agoraphobic about stepping foot outside of my apartment. I took Sniglet for a walk and when I opened my door a big 50's style dirty white teddy bear that was missing part of it's eyes fell into my hallway. It scared the shit out of me. There were the usual shopping cart and dumpster noises occuring all around. Drug dealers stopping by their place to pick something up in my building while their lady friends squat and piss on a tree stump outside. On and on and on. And I live in a perfectly fine neighborhood. It's just Portland.
I am thankful for the experiences I have had here and the friends I have made. I don't hate Portland, I've just had enough.
