I was scared of the Littletorch, but they have one at the shop and it's quite simple. The Oxy/Acetylene is good for silver because with a broader flame you can get the solder to flow quickly. The little oxy/propaine torch is a bitch to use with silver, but it's so easy with gold.
Lemmie know what you need help with, I'll probably be able to tell you something.
