Mmm apparently an update was in order... It's been a while so I guess I have a few days to cover.
The weekend was kind of slow. I didn't feel like going out at all, I'd had an exhausting week at work and plenty of drama on the home front. We went out to a very classy Rib joint on Friday night, to eat ribs. And giant hunks of pork. And some yellow creamy gunk which was apparently a potato gratin but I disagreed. The ribs were good tho
Saturday was mostly disastrous. Spent hours and hours getting a screening at the dentist, only to find out that my teeth were in great condition (yay) but because they were so good I didn't qualify for more free treatment (boo). I then met my Chicagoan-adopted French little sister for shopping in the afternoon, and managed to buy a cute sweater that I didn't need (yay) but no jeans that I really do need (boo). I love my Paper Denims, I am so sad they have a hole in the bum. Tried to work up the energy to go out on Saturday night but it didn't happen - I spent the night with my head in the boy's lap pretending not to sleep while watching a DVD. I love falling asleep feeling totally safe, snuggling on the couch, in the dark with P. I would rather do that than actually watch a DVD, although it does annoy him a bit.
Sunday we fossicked in thrift stores looking for a bench for our kitchen. No luck there, but I managed to buy 8 novels for a grand total of 87 cents. A bit pricey I know, but I think I can afford it since I go totally insane in a house with no books.
Oh that reminds me! Special thanks and love and super good thoughts to Sorcha for donating a stack of books to the "Stop Ams From Going Insane" Foundation. I really, really appreciate it and could feel the calm washing over me as I imagined devouring them over the coming weeks.
Sunday afternoon / evening was lovely, thanks to my lovely girls. Teen movies, delicious chocolate goop, hot chocolate to drink and a bevy of beauties. Mmm. Kit Kat served martinis that rocked my world - the Chocolate Raspberry Truffle martini was like drinking a slice of truffle flavoured heaven. To the 3 girls who hugged me better and didn't laugh at me for crying in the middle of dinner, I hope you know how much I appreciate you. Just know the Australian feels blessed to have you. (awwww.... )
Monday to today was work. It sucks. Today my boss announced my promotion to manager. Yay. I am unsure of his reasoning behind this. Perhaps it is because he knows I desperately want to leave, and he desperately wants to keep me (he does). Or maybe because he wants to make it more official that I do all his work while he sits downstairs and jerks off to porn. But since all it means for me is more work, less training in the areas I need, and certainly no money... I'm not feeling the love for the whole promotion thing.
Question of the day: How are you feeling?
For me it's emotion, definitely emotion.
On a side note, I realise this is a completely useless and boring update, however I am feeling really guarded about exposing any real emotion here at the moment. To be honest, things are good, and I don't want to jinx it.
Oh another question... what should I do in Florida for Spring Break??? I fly into and out of Orlando, and plan to drive down to Miami, the Keys, around there for about a week. I cannot wait for next Friday!

Um not the L&L, the Village Tap, where we had New Year's Eve. on Roscoe and Hoyne.
