I submitted my Visa application today, so assuming it all gets approved, 6-8 weeks from now I'll be packing up my life (again) and moving to Chicago.
Woah, conflicting emotions galore! I've had a pretty shitty week, and submitting the forms made me feel so good. I'm so excited about getting over there, working, starting the next phase of my life, having a 'proper' relationship again, having sex again (it's been way too long, 7 weeks down, 7 to go). Then I got home and mum met me at the door saying how excited she was for me, and hugged me to try and hide the tears in her eyes. Fuuuuuuuuck, I will miss my family like a bitch.
It will only be 7 months til I see them all again, not too long, but really long at the same time. My lil sis is guilt tripping me all the time, asking how I can leave her etc etc. It makes it so much harder, she's 16 and growing up fast, I want to be here for her.
There's too many sevens happening around here to be coincidental. I think I need to get a lotto ticket.

My boyfriend sent me an email. All it said was "Your Sunset" and had 2 photos. Here's one of them. God, he's the sweetest thing.

Unfortunately Ikea is a pretty good haul from the city--it's out in Schaumburg, and there's not really any way to get there by public transport either (not that you'd be able to get all your stuff back, anyway, if there was--although they do rent vans). Hopefully you'll find a generous car-having friend before too long.
