Burlesquefest 2003 at the Paradise, Boston, Tuesday june 10
Wow, it was terriffic!
Here in boston, the show opened with "through the keyhole" a local act tthat were great.
then, on to the real deal....first of all, there were a ton of beeeeyoutifull girls in the audience (including my lady friend). but wow, the oracle dance trio were hot, sexy vixens who really could dance the hell out of (or maybe back onto) the stage. these girls were classically trained, and it showed. Now, I'm writing this from the point of view of someone who has only seen bored, poorly enhanced girls shake it for dollar bills. Kitty crimson made me feel really funny in my special place, she was so cruelly beautiful as the devil/school teacher (the riding crop was la piece de resistance) and she could really sing. now, kitty D'lish . in addition to all her over-the-top props, and fantastic body control, oh, and absolutely the most sexy use of fans I've ever seen, she had this look in her eyes...sorta 1/2 dangerous vixen, 1/2 shy young girl that just melted me.
the band Devotchka was a treat. having that gypsyesque music to go along with the show really added to the whole atmosphere. they had some great canned music too, if anyone finds out what they were playing, let me know!!!
overall, I'd give the show an A (not A+ because the emcee kitten on the keys, got a little annoying at times).
GO SEE THIS SHOW!!!!!!!!!
