I had been anticipating today to be a rather mediocre kind of day, the sky is overcast and Oxford is still in mourning of 3 students who died in a house fire this past weekend. I woke up, got some morning walking in then came home and went back to bed form an amazing two more hours. I had some pretty disturbing dreams and moved further away from the trauma of last semester.
This previous weekend was in some respects a repeat of the one before that, with Jamie coming to visit for a night from Cleveland. I have to do some work, I have two papers due this week, one on Wednesday (a cultural review of the film, MASH) and on Thursday, a critical evaluation of The Hunting of the President documentary. Next Wednesday I am presenting a pre-write of my thesis proposal with theoretical underpinnings (Deleuze for the most part), and a partial bibliography. So that is the context of this rather boring day. I have nothing to do today other than to TA a class on American cinema and to have a meeting with Dr. Wright on our meme theory project.
Upon my second waking I realize that the Suicide Girl update would be on. Upon checking out said update I saw the new set of Al! She is absolutely amazing, the context and set up of the set is very, very erotic; furthermore the new girl set of the day was Hibiscus. This girl is phenomenal; I certainly hope she continues doing sets on the site. That was the first bright spot of the day. The second bright spot was the release of the new Garbage CD on iTunes; a great CD, I am glad they took their time and put something great out instead of putting out anything.
The hunt for flats in Berlin continues, I think I will get one by the end of next week, I hesitated on one that perhaps I should have taken, but I dont want to jump at the first option. The march towards the end of the semester continues as well, soon it will all be over and a new horizon will open for next year. I am getting a little weirded out by the age difference I have here, but next year, I think, finishing the MA, preparing for PhD work/applications and travel will be very good for me.
