A Formula for my Present
In weaving and reweaving my understanding of philosophy between Hegel and Foucault I have picked up my old copy of Beyond Good and Evil, in my late teens this was one of my favorite books, and though I tackled Aristotles Metaphysics before I read Nietzsche, it was the latter that has had the lasting impact on philosophy in my own life.
Interestingly, as I return to Nietzsche, I am also preparing for another return that I am only now, in these last two days, coming to reconciliation about. The impending move back to Oxford. I found in that book, that great book that finally opens up the possibility of Ethics, the following quote, which serves as a formula for my present
Too bad! What? Isnt he going back?
Yes, but you understand him badly when you complain. He is going back like anybody who wants to attempt a big jump. Nietzsche
Take care,
-Ammonius
