Its funny. Yesterday I was writing in another journal about how I often thought about getting hit by a car on my bike. Well on my ride this morning I actually hit/got hit by a truck.
I was riding down NE Broadway immediately in front of my friend Brandons apartment when a truck that was driving parallel with me accelerated in front of me and immediately turned right, causing me to collide with the back of the truck. I managed to hit my brakes right as he turned, but the fact that it was raining and adding that my tires only have about an inch of contact with the ground meant that my wheels immediately locked up. I slid sideways into the rear right side of the truck, hitting it with my left hip and because he was still driving forward, as soon as I hit him he was out of the way and so my momentum carried me onto the ground landing on my left side. Im actually amazed that I managed to stay mounted on my bike for as long as I did. I dont exactly remember when I came unclipped from the pedals, but when I got up my bike was about a foot away. I didnt really get hurt too bad.. Ive got a small cherry on my left hip, a scrape on my left elbow, and my left knee is bloody, but all things considered I feel pretty lucky. I was wearing my helmet as well, but I dont think my head ever made contact with the ground.
The best part of the whole story is that the driver never even stopped.

So did you get hit by a car. It sounds more like you ran into a car.
i have yet to be involved in any collisions with vehicles (*knocks on pressed-wood desk*), but i've had a few near-misses. mostly annoying, somewhat frightening. lately, my near-misses have been when i'm on my own two feet. just the other day a fast-moving SF muni bus turning onto 280-NB next to balboa park BART almost made yours truly into road pancake.
