I had a lovely trip to Toronto yesterday. I took my boy out to the Slayer concert at the Molson Amphitheatre.
After two hours on the Greyhound we finally made it to Toronto, STARVING because we didn't have enough time to eat before we left. That was fine though because I had everything all planned out. We went to this great little restaurant kinda near the AGO...
It's called Vegetarian Haven and was absolutely wonderful.
I think you can click on that picture to go to the website if I did it correctly.
Anyway...I can't get over this restaurant. The menu was so goddamn huge I couldn't even read it all.
I settled on this wrap with tofu and grilled veggies with a salad and it was very very yummy. I don't even know what else to say about it. Alex was with me and had this really yummy curry rice stuff. He complained because there wasn't enough food to fill his big omnivore belly and so we decided to have dessert.......ohgod delicious...... I had the vanilla tofu cheesecake and it was even better than I remember cheesecake being. Needless to say, I was very pleased with my lunch.
After food we wandered around for a while....Walked over to the Eaton's centre so we could cool down. It was ridiculously hot out. We wandered by the Edge and they asked us to participate in some taste test thing for the new coke zero or whatever...... so we did...and I won a pair of tickets to Edgefest 2. If anyone wants to go, let me know, I have a pair of tickets to a show I don't want to see, and will never use...especially since I'm going to the zoo that day, and obviously the zoo is more important than an emo cryfest....no offense to anyone who might enjoy that sort of thing.
Anyway, finally we decided to make our way down to union station to catch the streetcar... We made it to the amphitheatre and found our seats...which were kinda behind a pole.....then found some other seats which no one ever came to claim. The show was pretty good considering its not really my thing. I just don't like American metal....and I don't even like Slayer at all. I liked Children of Bodom though.....they are from Finland. Everyone knows real metal comes from Scandanavia....well at least all the good stuff. I find COB to be kinda cheesy though.....but it was still good. Mastodon was fine, Lamb of God too, and Slayer was okay. I just can't handle the vocals. I just don't like Thrash vocals......I can't help it. It was okay though...better than I thought it was going to be.
I kinda like going to the Molson Amphitheatre.....but moreso when we have better seats. Prices for stuff are pretty ridiculous though, even for a concert......I mean.... $4.50 for a bottle of pop? Come on now......
But, like I said, pretty good day overall, ending with a nice long bus ride home at 1am. Bus seats are not very comfortable beds.
Thats about the end of my story.....
