Progress is being made at home now. My brother and I recently had come into a little extra money so we were able to purchase some more furniture for our apartment. We bought a nice comfy sofa for our living room, and I bought a table that I will be fabricating into a poker table. I think it will turn out nicely, I have started buying the materials I will need to do so but still have some more things to get. I also ordered a bed off of Amazon.com According to the e-mail received from the seller it should be arriving Monday via FedEx. I am looking forward to it. Plus I ordered a few DVDs that I am eager to get. We still don't have cable TV here at the apartment so my brother and I pass the time watching movies from my DVD collection.
The day before yesterday we went to Alberston's for groceries and while there also picked up a six pack of Miller's Chill. It is a new flavored beer. I was a bit curious about it and decided to give it a try. The flavor is not bad, we both enjoyed it.
On a more recent note, last night while taking the dog out my brother and I were just talking while Chloe did her business and we were approached by the courtesy officer of our apartment community. It turns out that only a few hours ago an armed robbery took place in front of our building. The news was a bit alarming, being that it took place so close and so recently. So we finalized our visit outside and returned to our apartment ending the night in preparation for work the following day. This disturbing development will change a few regular practices. From now on I will have to accompany my brother when he takes the dog out no more going out alone. I also normally carry a handgun (I am registered and do have a CCW license), and I usually have a loaded magazine but will take it a little further by putting one in the chamber before I exit the room. I have not done this before because the model of firearm I have does not have a selectable safety but in this matter I think I would rather trust my own discipline and restraint than that of a criminal.
