I finally got some sleep. After the 67th hour, someone convenced me to sleep for health reasons. I was starting to feel a little sick.
To celebrate my last day of classes, for the most part, I popped in The Evil Dead, Army of Darkness, and The Nightmare Before Christmas. Three films I can watch non-stop.
I can't stop thinking about that so-called birthday gift (see previous post, if your interested).
I get a call from this girl again tonight, and brake the news that I am taken. It comes to a bit of a shock, but she manages to turn the tables. She goes into detail about how the night would go. Yadda-yadda-ya, hardly wearing a thing, cooking me a fine dinner, giving me a nice bottle of wine, retiring to my room, and her clothes on the floor.
FUCK! Women are evil! The so are!
I'm convinced that The Evil Dead and Army of Darkness make a point of this. In both films a female character who is possessed suddenly appears human and helpless to lure Ash-then BAM-they turn back into ghoulish creatures attacking them.
I'm not a woman hater. I love women! But when they want something, they take a sharp object and shove it in our Achilles Heal and move it around until we fall to defeat.
Arg, I'm stressed. My Republican Grandparents piss me off, so do Southern Baptist telling me I'm going to Hell because I don't "join them", and so do Moby-Dick papers!
Please, someone humor me.

something humorous... last year when i went to see placebo, in my somewhat forward centre position in the pit i passed out, and caused a ripple through the crowd. i woke up on the floor and people's faces were turned to me and not to brian molko. i went out to get some water, and while i was doing so one of my 6'3 friends passed out. but he didn't wake up for a while, and had to be carried out by our little friend. friend and i stole someone's seats for the rest of the concert, i remember particularly pure morning, because i was holding onto his hand, knowing when he was fading in and out of consciousness by the tightness of his grip. he finds it embarassing, but i find it amusing.
I was going to say that, the more I've read the more I'm impressed with how much he doesn't write. In that there's a lot for the reader to infer. It happened to fall open at an earlier page today and I read an early part. It was, in my opinion, subtley very smart. In a way that wouldn't stand out on first reading but would if you re-read it with the information you'd gleaned from the rest of the book. I admire the authors restraint in not wanting to highlight every bit of cleverness and leaving some things there for those that happen to spot them.
Of course, it's possible that I'm a simpleton and everyone in the world would get these references straight off the bat. When you've started the book and are in a few chapters drop me a line because I'd like to see if someone else has or hasn't picked up on all of this subtlety from the get go.
Cheers,
dg
