I <3 radio so much.... and I could see myself having the same feelings for the rest of my life. Literally. It's just one of those things for me.... right up there with writing.
And, although, I still do plan on doing a podcast (when my computer starts working with full functionality again, I hope *knocks on wood*), career-wise, I want to take a new direction, while still staying (at least, sort of) in the media field.
Not to sound boring but I do need to do something more "stable" perhaps. From what I know of radio, it's a very precarious business; a job where one can get fired randomly and without warning. (Though, yeah, I know, I know! A lot of jobs are like that nowadays...)
I'm thinking of going into marketing/advertising; it's something I've been interested in for a long time, but haven't really thought of pursuing. Granted, I would have to grit my teeth though a few extra years in school (yeesh...), but the payoff has the potential to be huge; I would be marketable and if one is successful in the advertising business, it can be VERY lucrative.
Hate to be shallow (actually I don't give a damn, lol...), but I don't want to be in the bottom of the totem pole for the rest of my life... I don't want to be one of those people who do just enough to get by.
I'm a highly intelligent, as well as persuasive person, who owes much more to myself than that sort of life... not saying radio couldn't be rewarding in its own right (if I thought that I wouldn't even had considered it in the first place), but I'm looking at something that involves a little more brain power and a lot more ambition....
and for the first time in 2 years, I think I might just rise up to the challenge.
