I sould be doing something very different than writing this blog now.
I must return two watercolour paintings to my art teacher tomorrow morning, and I haven't even started yet. I just can't seem to bring myself round to it. In stead I'm doing anything else than what I'm supposed to do. I guess I have to start soon.
Anyway, I just uploaded a few pictures of a fire jugglers' performance in Helsinki to my photographs album. They turned out quite well in spite of the camera having no tripod and the exposure times being long. Here's a sample, rest can be found here.
The shots were taken with a Canon 350D, with the standard kit lens that comes with the camera. The objective isn't that good in poor lighting conditions and the auto-focus doesn't work too well in dark, either. So, pictures were taken hand-held, manually focused on fast-moving performers and with exposure times even as long as over half a second. Some are a bit shaky, some out of focus, but some turned out really nice. Damn, I have steady hands
It's about half past six PM here now.. I'd better start working on those paintings if I want them done by morning.
I'm also a bit worried about finding all my stuff for the 3-day sharpshooter course starting tomorrow. Most of my weatherproof clothes and such are packed away somewhere. I'll be spending the next weekend lying on the ground, pretending to be a part of the shrubbery while trying to hit targets over 300 meters away with a .308 rifle. Sounds fun, right?
Take care, all.

So, the link to the sample picture didn't work, but here's another try.
There you have it.
