We spent the day mostly shooting this Thursday. (Yes, I'm going to talk about guns, again.. all of you who don't like firearms, just skip the whole entry 'cause I don't have anything not gun-related to say at the moment.) To those of you who like things that go bang, I'm going to treat you to a few photos I shot today. Sadly, the pictures had to be downscaled rather severely (to 17% of original size) to get them to manageable size on the Net, but luckily I have the originals (and many, many more) on my computer in full size.
This is a really nice Smith&Wesson .357 Magnum revolver with a 10" barrel for silhouette shooting. I really liked the way it fit my hand, and the feeling of the handle. Maybe I'll have to get me one of these some day.
This baby is our teacher's pet. A Ruger Super Redhawk .44 Magnum revolver with a Tasco scope and a long barrel for silhouette shooting. Sadly the beautiful engraving work doesn't really show on the pic. The kick of this thing was much milder than one might expect. It packs a wallop, but the kick is not very sharp, more like a firm push or a shove against your hand. I liked shooting with this very much.
Now, this is our Trivia Quiz of the day. Some of you might recognize this old pistol dating from the 40's. A sound recognition of gun trivia for anyone who gives the right answer, plus a very special bonus to whoever can guess what the engraved red number nine on the grip stands for. Any guesses?
