Forvige me, for I've been lazy. It's been over 6 months since my last posting.
Things have happened in a weird way since November.. Sort of in fast forward but still in slow motion. It's hard to explain, but life's been somewhat of a rollercoaster. First a steep climb uphill, then up and down but mostly down.
I was in high spirits after returning from California, 2 weeks wonderful vacation that really saved me from a complete burn-out. After getting back to work, the nastiness of it all started really fast to pull me down to an inevitable crash on the ground. I managed to keep it together by discarding all activities save for the really important ones. I tried to strain myself at work as little as possible and yet I had no energy left whatsoever when I got back home. I put almost all my social contacts on hold to gain some stressless time.
To cut the long story short, there were better and worse days, but finally things are lookin up again. I had the sense to quit the job that was draining me of all energy, applied and got accepted to a new school. I still haven't found another job yet, but the school starts 9th of August, so there isn't really time for one. I think I'll be able to manage until then.
I'm really looking forward to the new school. It's a sort of school of applied arts and crafts, and the only place in Finland that graduates gunsmiths. That's right, I'm going to learn how to build, repair, modify and conserve firearms, a thing that has interested me for a long time. And, as a boon, the new school is full of likeminded new people, with open minds and artistic or at least crafty dispositions. Most of them are younger than me, but I don't think that will do any harm. The only real problem is that I have to live perhaps even three years in a different town than my darling wife, who will move to Helsinki to continue her own studies when I move to Ikaalinen, a (really) small town, about 40 miles northwest from Tampere.
I do hope that in future I have more time to be an active member of the SG community and keep you posted of things happening in my life, in case you would be interested.
Bye for now, and hopefully I'll get back to you a *bit* sooner than it took me this time
Take care all, and be well
