I have received some fallout over the "glowing positive review" of a recent set, that romanticized nazis and sexual violence. Understand that I did not read the text and my comment came after viewing of a few of the end pix, and was based solely on the model's babydoll cuteness (not my usual taste but, nonetheless she "looks" adorable). I was clueless of the theme until reading Vanity's blog. After further review I retracted my comment (hopefully with the appropriate venom).
I spent a good part of last night on the boards trying to explain myself, but some of you seem to remain unconvinced... so for the record:
I DO NOT support, nor am I ambivelent to the atrocities of nazis or rape. Indeed I have spent the better part of my lifetime (considerably longer than most of you), combating these evils on various fronts and attempting to educate those ignorant of these abominations.
For those of you who read far enough to see my retraction and give me the benefit of the doubt (see below)... I thank you! For those of you who did not... please find my retraction and my comments on the boards, and try to consider re-evaluating your opinion of me.
In my defense... I was pressed for time and did not understand the theme. I promise I will pay closer attention from now on.
As I've been saying repeatedly... it never occured to me that SG would put up this kind of set. Has SG changed so much? Is this their new vision of women's empowerment?
Kudos to all the SG's and members who have rallied against this. Hopefully the staff will listen and this will not happen again.
To reiterate my retraction...
"There is nothing "cool" about nazis or rape. This set was in as poor a taste as dead baby jokes!"
