You write well. And I love watching people, creepy as that sounds to admit. You writing style, and the content somewhat, reminded me of a story by John Biguenet titled The Open Curtain. It was in a collection of short stories titled The Torturer's Apprentice, which I had picked up because the title intrigued me, but turns out it's a gem of a collection in whole. Anyway I'm rambling, but yes your apartments sound like they're full of interesting characters to muse over.
