We had a wonderful time in St Louis. Got to see both sides of our families, and enjoyed some delicious food and some good laughs.
My grandma and grandpa started telling stories about the old country guys... About how she almost kicked Merle Haggards ass... and almost shooting Burley Grimes on Johnny Cash's porch (they used to live next to each other, they call him "John") thinking he was a crazed fan, and lots of other gems like that. Patrick loved it. My grandma took to him immediately. She wouldn't let him listen to anyone else's stories! hahaha I knew it would happen like that.
We had a great baby shower, and Patricks 30th birthday party...He was completely sober the whole time for the first time "in 16 years". It was cute to see him walking around talking about the baby, births, being a married man, and his new life.. He was so smiley and cute. absolutely glowing. The night of our baby shower he was kissing me and had his hands on my tummy feeling the little guy having hiccups and kicking up a storm, and he turns to me and says... "my little boy is in there.." and I about died. He has completely blown me away. He is so thoughtful and does so much around the house to help. I am truly lucky. This little man is going to have an amazing father.
Here are some pictures from the fun!
Babies first Cardinals ballcap:
Babies first book about Elvis.
This thing rules.
Babies first St Louis Blues Jersey!! GO BLUES! He has some onesies, and a cap too! And booties! He went to a playoffs game in my tummy! Fucking Jackman.. he ruined it for us!
Patricks first time holding a baby. This is his recently passed best friends son, Chad Jr. He's 5 1/2 months old, and looks just like his daddy... Very bittersweet day for us. Our little man was sitting up in my stomach on the right side when Chad Jr was sitting on the left. Our friend Jim and Patrick had a few teary eyed moments knowing our two boys were already chumming up...
Big Smiles for Chad!
All in all, in 7 days we ate about 928357 times, went to Branson. Saw an Elvis impersonator, watched my uncle in his theater doing the Eagles tribute, had a baby shower, a birthday party, went to a playoff hockey game, and sung karaoke in a gay bar. It was a fun trip but exhausting!!!!!
Here's tummy this week!
