@bloodymongoose I hate Ramen but damn it's so cheap. Unfortunately, I have to feed a total of 6 people in the house. I'm going meatless and mostly pasta dinners for the next two weeks. Potatoes, eggs, grilled cheese, spaghetti etc. It sucks. I start a new job, hopefully, the 11th but I won't get paid until after Thanksgiving. =(

I'm really sorry to hear that. Hang in there little one. This is a horrible time of the year to be broke. I honestly wasn't trying to make light of your situation, and during the times that I had to stretch every dollar it didn't seem at all funny or fair. But there was something about that period, when it was just me and the girlfriend I had at the time, and it was just us against the world. Back then we'd at times have to go for a month or more without electricity (going without cable wasn't a problem because we had to pawn the TV and then couldn't afford to cover the interest) and we'd take our showers in a dark bathroom lit only by a single candle which could ONLY be used for the bathroom. Thank God our apartment complex was pretty old and had a single central boiler, so we always had hot water. We'd also wash as much of our clothing as possible (jeans, socks, t-shirts, underwear, etc.) in the bath/shower and only use machines for the most important stuff. During that time we know of every church that provided a weekly nightly dinner in our section of Dallas. Anyways, like I said, hang in there love and never be too proud to ask for help from churches or food banks. -Kurt
