OK, so I've been really lazy about updating this.
Anyway, latest thrilling news from my life is that I ended up in Emergency on Saturday night just for fun, and on Sunday they decided that my gallbladder didn't really need to live in my body and chopped it out just after midnight. Even keyhole surgery is a killer though. So I have 4 little cuts, one between the lines of my tattoo, just missing it. I spoke to the surgeons before going into theatre and told them not to cut through my tattoo unless the only option, so he was good about that and careful. Unfortunately I had to take out all of my piercings, and as I was supposed to go in for surgery at 1.30pm Sunday I'd taken them out before one. Then I kept getting pushed back, delayed, delayed, delayed! and so it was 11.45 when they actually wheeled me downstairs, and it was at least 12.30am when they eventually started. When I tried to put everything back in on Monday, everything had closed over except for the small hole in my nose. So I've lost my belly, nipple, labret and thicker nose ring. Which is really really annoying.
Monday wasn't the most enjoyable day I've ever had. I was still hooked up to the IV and to this lovely little handbag thing, that was a charming bag of blood and fluid stuff that was being drained from my abdomen through a tube. I had to carry it everywhere, it felt embarassing. Hurt to move, hurt to laugh, hurt to cough, hurt to breathe. Not allowed to smoke. On Tuesday when the took the draining tube out I nearly had a heart attack. I thought that it would have been about an inch long inside me, but it was literally a foot long. No longer was I surprised that I was so uncomfortable. Wednesday they sent me home.
The annoying thing is that after removing my gallbladder having assumed I had gallstones, they found that my gallbladder was pretty much normal, no stones. They did all these tests and still havent worked out what exactly was wrong, just sent me home with antibiotics and panadol forte which is not as nice as morphine, tramadol and the stuff that starts with K that's not ketamine and hasnt got a ph, a z, or an L. At least I got away from the 3 old ladies in the ward who just stared at me all day and got cranky when I closed the curtains around my bed. They seemed to think that the desire for some level of privacy was wrong. They were stupid. One talked about cabbages nonstop for over an hour. Even at home I can't really do anything anyway. So I'm shit bored. I was wearing my Suicidegirls Live Tour tshirt in hospital and was very surprised to find that Cabbage Lady's (Raelene's) daughter recognised the top. I'm used to people going, is that a band? At least being in hospital my boyfirend came and visited me lots, he was in all Sunday from 10am until about 11 at night, and then twice on monday as well, and tuesday night. He is a good boyfriend. On Tuesday he was only in for a minue because he had to go to some local business awards ceremony thing, so he was all dressed up and looked HOT. Lucky I'm sick, otherwise he wouldn't have made it to the awards night because I wouldn't have been able to keep my hands off him.
Well, I'm going to go and lie down again and try to sleep. I'm sick of being sick. So far of 4 weeks of uni, I've been sick for the last 3.

Jeez. Hope you're doing better. I think peeps often assume that medicos know what they're doing. And I think about half the time it just ain't so. Yay for good boy/girlfriends. They're few and far between
