Well this is my virgin entry here...
After ages looking at the site and meaning to join, I finally got around to it and since that haven't had a whole lot of time to check out as much as I'd have liked!
Had a great time on New Year's Eve, although a good mate decided that he wanted to drown me in the kitchen sink, which was entertaining. It was ridiculously hot in Melbourne, 43 degrees (It's true!) and so most of the night was spent drinking in the swimming pool, along with laughing at the idiocy of all the other drunk people, rather than making a fool of myself for a change.
Spent the weekend down in Barwon Heads, on the beach, with my boyfriend, my best friend and her boyfriend, and another mate Adam. (who's a hairdresser but claims he is straight). Nice and relaxing, a fair bit of drinking occured and unfortunately the good old drinking game "I Never" which always involves them a) finding out too much about me and b) the others trying to embarrass me. This time however my boyfriend was there, and so of course a whole lot of stuff that he didnt know about got brought up... always uncomfortable, and now he wants the details! Argh!
On Sunday we went to Ocean Grove to the beach, but there were people everywhere and lots of kids so we kicked around the rocks and I collected a little bag of shells, some pretty ones and some of the broken ones that look a little like spiral staircases. I felt like such a hippie in my tie-dye green petticoat dress, green bohemian sandals, my big black sunnies and black broadbrim hat, a multitude of beads and this thin whitish muslin shirt that stops me getting burnt. (Cursed pale skin!) Rockpools make me feel like such a kid again, I love running around them with bare feet and leaping from one to the next. Childish I guess, but fun, and the boys picked on me for always pointing my toes and looking too damn graceful.
We firetwirled on the beach on sunday night. I love twirling barefoot because you can spin around and around and around and the sand is nice and cool. It's nice on the beach because you have the sound of the poi burning and spinning and the softness of the waves blocking out people and voices and you can be completely withdrawn in the circles the flames make around you, and when you stop you realise you had an audience, but when you're twirling and inside yourself, it doesn't matter.
Well, that should do surely. Tonight Pete and I walked along St Kilda Beach, while it was just almost raining and peaceful and cool, as it was starting to get dark. Actually, I walked and he unicycled, but it was nice nonetheless.
Virgin post: Done and done! Glad I got that over with!

Amaranthe.
Twas a good one, I thought. Covered several days; we got that delightful image of a tie-dyed green petticoat dress; and there was fire.
So, welcome, welcome.
