the Hammerbox show was really nice, but once I got there, I realized it was a show I needed to see 10 years ago.
The opening act was the first show of a new project by Sean Nelson from Harvey Danger, called "Sean Nelson and his mortal enemies". It Reminded me of Ben Folds Five.
Sean Nelson recounted a story about the first Hammerbox show he ever went to. They were the opening act for King Missle back in 1992. After the opening set, everyone left.
That reminded me about the David Bowie/Nine inch Nails tour. So many kids were there to see Nine Inch Nials that people would start leaving once David Bowie came on. I read somewhere that he started wearing shades on stage after the first few shows because it bothered him so much, he didn't want to be able to see the crowd. All I could think about at my show is "How dare those fucks buy great seats and then leave, making me see Bowie from a quarter mile away."
You know?
