Life is crazy, I've gone through two supervisors in the past few weeks, won a promotional incentive at work that is going to earn me a Blackberry Storm, Jawbone bluetooth, 8Gig micro sd card, and $150. Plus I think I'm going to win the same contest in December based on my sales projections. Woot!
I've been doing my homework for a new camera and I'm buying myself a Canon 40D Digital SLR with an EF 28mm-135mm IS F/3.5-5.6 lens, EF 50MM F/1.8 prime lens, and a battery Grip. I'm still on the fence about which flash or if I want to get some studio lights first, but it's a happy dilemma.
The hunt is on for a place in Salt Lake. I'm leaning toward a house, especially if it comes with an extra bedroom that I can turn into a little studio. It will be nice to start shooting sets again.
I didn't get a chance to mention it earlier but, I shot a costume workshop during Halloween that was just fantastic. There was a tinkerbell and Captain Hook couple that really made me regret I didn't have a faster lens for the low light conditions I was dealing with. The models were great and the poses I directed were hot as hell. I just sadly had to trash the whole session because my digital is crap, and I left my good SLR at home like a dolt. Even though I won't get prints out of the experience, it felt really good to get back behind a lens, and feel that little high again.
