dunna dunna dunna
Hi guys, still alive. I've been one busy motherfucker and I am exhausted. I've been clubbing, eaten octopus (twice - once in some fried dough ball things that were yummy and once on sushi. It doesn't really taste like too much but is really chewy), drinking a lot, studying even more. We've got midterms tomorrow but I'm not too worried.
Next week we're going to Hakone. I get to hang out in an onsen (hot springs) and walk along ridiculously old roads. I think it'll be a great experience - going to the extremely old churches in Mexico was awesome (I'm talking early 1500's, completely laden in gold. For comparison, my hometown was founded in the mid to late 1800s.) But we're talking, a road that is REALLY old. Although unfortunately due to the earthquakes and subsequent fires that break out, not to mention WWII, a lot of the extremely old places in and around Tokyo have been destroyed.
Thinking about making a set of some sort when I get home. Maybe something wintery themed? I don't know. I have to reapply in the first place. I mean, not that I got in - I sent rather unimpressive pics for my initial application but I'm better at things like not making squinty eyes in photos. Except when I'm drunk. Then I just look sad. Example:
Granted, I had a cold, it was about 11 pm, I was extremely tired and approaching trashed before clubbing in Shibuya all night.
That's pretty much it. I'll update in a few weeks when I can. I see a few sets recently that I really want to look at but damn this public setting! (I have a guy friend who enjoys looking at them with me - go figure. I just miss my boyfriend.)
I'll leave you with one of my absolute favorite pictures so far. This is in Harajuku which is a punk/goth kid's dream. I want to buy the entire area. We stopped a random Japanese girl and she snapped this photo for us. Itterrashai!
