Summer comes in Nebraska with a vengeance. It's easily 90 degrees outside (though fairly dry today; the humidity hasn't kicked in yet) with winds up to 40 mph. It's funny to look back and know that one year ago today, at this time, I was on a plane to Mexico City, or on a bus from el DF to Santiago de Queretaro, Queretaro, Mexico. I had no idea how much living in Mexico would change my life, and the important part is that I HAD NO IDEA HOW AWESOME THE WEATHER WAS. I figured, it was Mexico! It'd be hot! Totally wrong. The weather in Queretaro is absolutely fabulous - it's a little bit up in the hills of the.. Sierra Occidental, I believe, so it doesn't get much hotter than 80 degrees in the middle of the day. Not that it mattered because we were either in the air conditioned classrooms, or hanging out in the shade at La Plaza de Armas or La Plaza de Las Americas. The mornings were a bit cool, and often a little rainy, but the evenings were FABULOUS. I'm talkin, 70-75 degrees. So you could wear your skimpiest top and still be comfortable walking home or to the cab when you got out of the club at 3 or 4 am. And what little heat there was, it was totally dry. I remember the night we flew into Omaha - we arrived around midnight. It was 90 degrees (or maybe 99, but that seems unusually high, in any case it was really hot) with 100% humidity. I think we all about died that night because we were so completely unused to it anymore. So I could really use a nice vacation in Queretaro right about now.
Other than that, life is good. Finally getting all the stuff out of my car from when I moved out officially from my apartment I shared with Adam last week. This is only because I need to purchase things like groceries and a broom, and I can't very well fit them in my backseat if it's still full of junk. I didn't go to see Grindhouse on Monday, so I'm doing it tomorrow. I might be heading to Wayne of all places this weekend. For those of you who don't know much about northeast Nebraska, it works like this: all the little towns around Norfolk (Plainview, Osmond, Pierce, Wayne, Creighton, so on and so forth) go to Norfolk for their entertainment. Me, being from the Fork, do not understand this because I think it's a shithole. It doesn't help that I'm a modded, pink haired, liberal feminist outspoken female and I most certainly do not fit into acceptable standards of small town USA. So the kids from the Fork, we usually end up in Lincoln. It seems to me that the Lincoln kids prefer to go to Omaha, and the Omaha kids end up in Kansas City. After that, I don't know - Lincoln is good now, but it still is too small for me. I'd love to live in the bay area some day. I think the twin cities would rock too, cause even though I haven't ever been there, a lot of my college friends are from Minnesota and my boyfriend attended UoM for 2 years. Maybe NYC or somewhere else on the east coast - I'll be going to upstate NY this summer so we'll see about that. But anyway, I'm rambling - what I'm trying to say is, I'm downgrading my excitement options by 10 by going to Wayne for the weekend rather than staying here. But it's not set in stone yet.
AND. My friend is having a sex toy party. This pleases me greatly as I am in the market for a good g-spot vibe so maybe I'll find something there. Not like I have the money to be spending on sex toys, but... I like sex more than pretty much anything else, so it's worth it. I just wish my work hours would pick up so I could pay off this f'ing credit card bill. I hate hate hate hate hate hate hate hate hate having debt and it's only going to get worse temporarily. Good thing: wisdom teeth come out next week. Yay! Especially cause one of them has been hurting off and on the past few days. Bad news: $200 down payment. And I should find out soon if I got my sweet ass JASSO scholarship for Japan. I really really really really hope so.
Oh, and check out Rei's latest blog. It talks about how much having small boobs sucks and implants suck too. I agree with everything she says. IBTC for-evah.
