MP3: La Musique - "Riot in Belgium"
I'm turning 30 years old this month. Isn't that strange? Cocoabutter is turning 30 too, and that seems even stranger.
I'm terribly upset about it, but I can't figure out why. I guess it has something to do with not liking change, and leaving behind my 20's is certainly a major change. It's much harder than I had anticipated, and I'm slightly embarrassed to admit that. I've accomplished everything I had intended on accomplishing by the time I turned 30, and I really do have a nice life, so those facts are a bit comforting, but still... 25 to 30 goes by so fast, it's unbelievable.
MP3: Girl Talk - "No Pause"
My family and I got together for a tiny, pre-birthday party, and I received lots of pretty gifts, so I'm slightly less assy about the birthday. My mother in law gave me an original lithograph/woodcut by Hodaka Yoshida called "Coke Push in Japan."
I feel amazingly lucky to have such a generous mother in law, because before I got married, I kind of assumed she was a major asshole. But that wasn't the case.
My husband also gave me a couple lithographs, but I have no idea who did them, and when I asked Mr Alyk, he said, "I don't know... all Japanese names sound a like to me." Such a saint.
They're lovely, right? Um hmm, I think so.
MP3: Ace Frehley - "Back In the New York Groove"
Earlier this week I received a package from the talented and kind Tmronin, containing this:
It's a Backstreet Boys disc signed by Nick Carter! I feel like I'm now one step closer to Aaron Carter, and that is a warm and cozy feeling.
MP3: The Germs - "What We Do Is Secret"
Boston posse: let's get together for frozen yogurt this month, umkay? I know a place where we can get yogurt-flavored frozen yogurt. Don't act like you're not intrigued.
