The dreams keep happening. I've been talking to that specific ex regularly now, but refuse to talk about the dreams. It's just too hard to go into detail with that person. Self preservation. I'm too weak to face this head-on right now. Someday, but not today. Not tomorrow.
So far the NHL is still looking at a lockout again. I won't touch the subject or go into details. It's not up to me to fix it, so I will keep my opinions to myself on how to fix it. All I know, is I will be fucking pissed if there's no NHL the first season I finally live near my favorite team.
Dad left to Omaha a few days early for work. I'm all alone until Sunday. Which means I can be without my bra more often and let my boobs continue to heal. The wire isn't cutting them as much, so either my tits are caloused or I have super-boobs. I'm not sure which yet. I'm still unhappy that I can't afford a new bra, but it's not my fault. It's no one's fault really. It angers me, sure..... but I can't place blame on anything but circumstance and I'm doing very well at being understanding.
Also, being alone means a solo Shark Week party. I've always wanted to "participate" in shark week. So I'm going to make a Bull Shark Bite. Brazillian rum (because Bull Sharks are from Brazil) and blue curacao and a few drops of grenadine for "blood" lol. I'll probably just buy really cheap rum though because I'm poor. I might even get little umbrellas or find a way to decorate it just to be cute. I'm going to have fun with it. If I had limes, I'd do a lime wedge and make it look like a shark fin. We'll see. So I'm hunting down my favorite parts of the Shark Week drinking games I can find.
Veggies are expensive and I'm trying really hard not to eat all of the greens I bought today all at once. I'm so excited to have fresh fruit and veggies in the apartment. My dad buys so much processed shit and sometimes I can't afford to buy my own food so I have to eat it. He thinks carbs are all that matter in weight loss and I lol. But still, I'm excited. Turkey breast cutlet, potatoes, and zucchini for dinner. With rosemary and garlic. =]
Octoberfest is out now. There are 5 in the fridge. Can't wait to pick up a Fall Seasonal Edition box. I buy the whole thing just for the 2 Harvest Pumpkin Ale. Best pumpkin beer I've ever had and it NEVER tastes like nutmeg. I'm so sick of "pumpkin" flavored anything tasting like pure nutmeg.
Since I'm doing a tropical drink and watching shark week, I lit ALL my summer scented candles. Peach and Mango scented. Also, I splurged $5 for a Maple Pumpkin Oil Candle =] So it's my "last day of summer" today and in a few days, I'm going to have a "ITS ALMOST PUMPKIN TIME" celebration. With fall beers and my pumpkin candle and turn the AC up so I can wear a hoodie. And I'll spend the whole day looking at pictures of orange leaves and red sunsets and pumpkins everywhere. I'm just trying to find reasons to celebrate a normally boring day. Something to be happy about. And cheap ways to celebrate.
Pretty soon, stores will be filled with pumpkin candles, and coffee, and ice cream, and pie filling/accessories, and beers, and COFFER CREAMERS.
Sorry I don't have pictures. Maybe next time.

drinking on skype with Reekie and I wrote this after she read this blog and was so happy knowing that autumn was near.....
I rarely share my poetry, but I doubt anyone will really care.
until greyish tan fields of corn, dying grass in front yards sprinkled with the fiery tones of fallen leaves. the weather finally having sympathy, allowing us to wrap ourselves in our favorite hoodies. falsely bonding with family as we carve pumpkins that wouldn't impress anyone else. the inescapable presence of nutmeg and cinnamon. knowing that the scent of pine and snow is on its way, but we're not ready yet.

Great imagery, you can almost feel the fall. Thanks, Aly.

the "its almost pumpkin time" celebration sounds like so much fun! good idea.
pumpkin candles, hoodies, chilly wind cutting through your hair... ahhh, so nice!
