YARRRR! Guess what day it be!
That's right, it's Talk Like a Pirate Day! I went and got myself a pirate name and everything.
My pirate name is:
Mad Anne Vane
Every pirate is a little bit crazy. You, though, are more than just a little bit. You tend to blend into the background occasionally, but that's okay, because it's much easier to sneak up on people and disembowel them that way. Arr!

I'm not so sure it's really Me, but I still see this as a perfectly valid reason to talk like a pirate all day at work.

In other news, I spent yesterday reading the new HP book. The whole thing. 3 of my nails mysteriously disappeared during the course of the book, as is often the case when I read something gripping for many hours straight. I think I would have liked it a bit better had I remembered the book before it very well, but it was good anyway. The ending was kind of, well, if you've read it you know that it's saddening, but I'm pleased to see that the trend of these books growing in adultness as they go has not been dropped or diminished.

I'm in the midst of knitting my first pair of gloves. Let's just say I suddenly have a really good reason to use the double-layer stockinette stitch technique I bookmarked a few months ago. That probably meant absolutely nothing to those of you who don't knit. It means that I know a cheater way to knit the individual fingers of these gloves without pinching myself and cursing frequently. Here, this is roughly what they're going to look like:
I'm making mine in charcoal grey and a bit longer than the ones pictured. For my next pair I'm going to use something a lot softer and BLACK. And they will be opera glove length and have a cable of some sort running along their backs. Yes.
Trivia: I would absolutely love to heal a full-back corset piercing, but have found that it's an unlikely prospect with my current lifestyle.

"Happiness is like a butterfly.
The more you chase it, the more it will elude you.
But if you turn your attention to other things,
it comes and softly sits on your shoulder."
