My order of yarn just arrived!!!
I got 3 skeins each of TLC Lustre and TLC Amore in black and 6 skeins of Bernat Satin in a colour called "sultana." You'd never think acrylic yarn could be so cuddleably soft, but it IS. All those for $30, too.
While I'm on the topic of knitting, I might as well do a status update on the accident in the previous entry. I managed to sort of ghetto-sew all the loose strands together and hide the whole disaster in the side seam, but it's always going to be a weak point. I'll have to keep an eye on it when I run it through the wash or if I end up wearing it frequently. I'm not done seaming the whole thing together yet, mostly because I've been working far too many hours and I screw up on the seams unless I do them in natural light.
Did I mention that I finally bought curtains? Well, I did. They're a fuzzy black burnout velvet sort of material and hang to the floor. They do a marvelous job of keeping out early morning light and noises and make my sad ghetto windows look indescribably better. Now all I need is a large quantity of purple paint and I'll be in business! Oh, and some plants too. My apartment is starved for greenery.
That's about all the recent news I have. Summer is glooming along nicely, with the exception of a single day that was a mysteriously high 93F. The temperature seems to have leveled off at a lovely semi-clear 66F, which confounds the tourists and pleases me to no end.
I have had this headache for over a week now. It never leaves, just fluctuates. I've tried painkillers, chamomile tea, not eating the food at work, sleep, and meditation. It is still here. Please help me before I have the urge to take a knitting needle to my temple.
Trivia: I love getting stuff in the mail, even if I bought it for myself.
