HOKAY! I finally have that septum picture I promised you:

Yes, my hair is even shorter than last time. I swear, this is as short as it's going to get for at least a couple of years.
Anyway, let's talk about Saturday. Saturday is usually my one day off each week, and more often than not it's also my friend The Precipice's day off, so we have a sort of tradition of driving over to Portland, shopping, wandering around, and eventually ending up at Henry's Tavern with a chunk of triple decker dark chocolate cake and some Nostradamus ale.

Cake and ale may sound like an odd combination, but I assure you, it's utterly delicious. The ale, which is imported from Belgium, starts out really dark and rich but then smoothes out into this almost caramel flavour that just lingers, so if you take a sip of it and then a bite of cake they meet right around the caramel flavour and it's just, well, fucking fantastic.

Belgium, if you're reading this, I love what you're doing.
Anyway, on this particular Saturday we were celebrating The Precipice's birthday, which was actually a week prior (I had to work), with the happy and finally legal gift of piercing.

I also got one of my right helix piercings redone while we were there (Straight to the Point), but it's not really interesting enough to warrant a picture. The evening was rounded out by an extended visit to Powell's, a brief jaunt into both Macy's and Spartacus, and unexpected hordes of people celebrating St. Patrick's Day. That's right, we forgot about what day it was. After our first stop at an intersection completely clogged with throngs of drunken green people we were totally over any sort of festive feelings that might have surfaced. My one nod to tradition was to order an appletini with dinner, but that's as far as it went. It's just not in me to celebrate a holiday by getting pissed and wandering around wearing a colour that makes me look like I have liver problems.
