So we got some snow yesterday. My son's school was closed and my wife played hooky. We had an enjoyably luxuriant day of hanging around the house in our peejays most of the day. That was primarily due to the snow falling, changing to sleet, frozen rain and then finally back to regular flakes. It was almost 5PM when we finally were able to go...

So I'm trying to launch a new career for myself as a voice over actor. If you or anyone you know works in that field and can help a brother out, please let me know. I have a site up with my demo if anyone's interested...

Well, I sent one of the Girls something from their wishlists almost three weeeks ago. I assume it's been received but, to date, not even a 'thank you'. I'm guessing I'll be adding "ingratitude" to my list of things that "make me sad"...

thank you so much for your sweet comment on my set. Also, I'm so sorry you never got a reply from your gift- perhaps the girl in question has not had internet? Super busy or dramatic in life right now? Abducted by aliens? wink wink

all the best,

Reminiscing about my childhood, I remembered how much I loved Life cereal. If it didn't have sugar I'd still eat it. Hey, Mikey liked it...

Today I am out of synch with the world it seems. There are those days when you can walk down the street and seamlessly mesh with the flow. Today is not one of them. It doesn't make me happy. That and I had too much for lunch... puke

Got an MRI the other day. I have two herniated disks, one enough to press on my spinal nerve bundle resulting in a nice shooting pain down my left ass cheek into my thigh every time I get up from a chair. Fun times.

Doc gave me two options: surgery or an experimental therapy regimen, the latter being cost-prohibitive since it's not covered by my...

It's been a long time since I've posted. Then again, I imagine few people read these anyway...

I'm quite bored with life at the moment. Work is just that. You're generally not supposed to enjoy your job as it's work but some do. Mine's become tedious and a thing I do to get home to spend time with my son. The lottery would be a...

A friend who I haven't seen in, literally, 13 years visited me this weekend. I dropped her off at the airport 4 hours ago. I'm still trying to unwind from one of the most stressful, unpleasant expereinces of my life.

Time changes all things yet it always amazes me how it can change a person. She is literally an unfortunate victim of many circumstances but...

We received a signed contract for the sale of our apartment last week. We'll be cloisng sometime in early January. The deal on the place we wanted fell through only days before. *sigh* If it was meant to be it would have happened. Back on the housing hunt...

It's only Monday, I'm at my desk and I'm exhausted already. I guess that's why they call...

Well, the deal fell through due to the very unpleasant fact that it took our place so long to sell. The seller started getting antsy and wanted to be let out of the deal so we agreed. That place was in the West Village. We've since found and signed a contract for a place in *gulp* Jersey City. I never wanted to move to New Jersey until I saw this place. In fact, I'm sure there'll be some cosmic backlash due to all the bad things I've said about the residents, highways, etc. I've embraced my destiny at last... smile

I hope you manage to work things out on the housing front.

I looked at my profile today and realized I need more friends. Should anyone be reading this, feel free to add me as one.

Yes, I'm feeling pathetic today. It's 1:45 and I've yet to do any real work at work. That needs to change very quickly. As you can see, though, I'm here posting this. <sigh>

The rain yesterday was nice, though. Heavy downpours...

Fall is finally here! Woo-HAA!!! I can't tell you how excited I am to be able to sleep with the windows open. A/C is all well and good but, there ain't nothing like "fresh" New York air.

Weekend was great. A friend came in from Jersey and we navigated the city. Damn rain knocked out the 1, 2, 3 and 9 which was my lifeline...

So, the reaction to the RNC finally affected me personally and a little close to home last night. They closed off a portion of the street I live on near Union Square due to a protest. Must have been impromptu as they chose a strange place for it. Anyway, they wouldn't let me into a block radius of my damned apartment so I had to...

So what were you doing in MD?

altarboy:
Ah, yes, MD. I suppose it's time for another journal entry but, to answer your question...

I was visiting the in-laws. They're moving by the end of the year and are cleaning house. Went down to help with a yard sale. Added a few things of my own. In total, the net was close to $1300. Impressive by any standards of yard saledom AND on a holiday weekend to boot...

Beyond that, swam a little, hung a little, ate a lot. All in all a nice time and we made it back to NYC in record time despite a late start due to car "troubles"...
