What does pride mean to you?
For me pride is standing in the face of what’s against you, despite being beaten and bruised. It’s the courage you have within yourself to know who you are and what’s best for you
I don’t think it’s an easy thing to obtain or keep, to be prideful is to reason with your inner critic and politely correct them when they say your work isn’t as deserving of the praise you give it.
Most of my pride comes from self-educating myself about a condition I have called Pelvis Venous Disorder, or more specifically, Pelvic Congestion Syndrome.
I pride myself in looking past my diagnosis, despite my EUPD which wants me to spiral a lot of the time, and using the tools I have available to help and educate others!
I take pride in breaking the mould when it comes to what society thinks of when they hear the world “disabled” or “chronically ill”.
You don’t necessarily have to love your scars and wounds, you don’t have to show them to the world to be prideful of them unlike what social media usually makes us think. Simply accepting them, and that they were a necessary stepping stone is being prideful of them 🖤
Oh wow that got a bit emotional! Anyways xD
