Racism:
OHHHHHH the big "R" word. The reason I want to talk about this one is because it's bugging the shit outta me. I am CANADIAN! I'm not Irish/Canadian, I'm not English/Canadian, I am CANADIAN!! Now with that said I received a email a few weeks ago that I saved the body of the message and am posting it here under a spoiler (so that if you don't want to read it that ok) please do note that this is mostly about America not Canada, but the idea is pretty well the same up here, just different names for a lot of holidays:

Proud to Be White Someone finally said it. How many are actually paying attention to this? There are African Americans, Mexican Americans, Asian Americans, Arab Americans, Native Americans, etc. And then there are just Americans. You pass me on the street and sneer in my direction. You call me "White boy," "Cracker," "Honkey,"
Whitey," "Caveman" and that's OK. But when I call you, Nigger, Kike, Towel head, Sand-nigger, Camel Jockey, Beaner, Gook, or Chink ... you call me a racist.
You say that whites commit a lot of violence against you, so why are the ghettos the most dangerous places to live? You have the United Negro College Fund. You have Martin Luther King Day. You have Black History Month. You have Cesar Chavez Day. You have Yom Hashoah You have Ma'uled Al-Nabi You have the NAACP. You have BET. If we had WET (White Entertainment Television) we'd be racists. If we had a White Pride Day, you would call us racists. If we had White History Month, we'd be racists. If we had any organization for only whites to "advance" OUR lives we'd be racists. We have a Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, a Black Chamber of Commerce, and then we just have the plain Chamber of Commerce. Wonder who pays for that? If we had a college fund that only gave white students scholarships ... you know we'd be racists. There are over 60 openly proclaimed Black Colleges in the US, yet if there were "White colleges" THAT would be a racist college. In the Million Man March, you believed that you were marching for your race and rights. If we marched for our race and rights, you would call us racists. You are proud to be black, brown, yellow and orange, and you're not afraid to announce it. But when we announce our white pride you call us racists. You rob us, carjack us, and shoot at us. But, when a white police officer shoots a black gang member or beats up a black drug-dealer running from the law and posing a threat to society you call him a racist. I am proud. But, you call me a racist. Why is it that only whites can be racists?


There that's the email. It made me realize that yeah that's what we seem to be going thru. Now like I said before I'm Canadian not American so I can't speak for you all, but I have noticed one thing going on up here. It seems that the Canadian government, and immigration, and provincial governments are all bowing down to people who leave their own country for whatever reasons (threat of death, a better life in Canada, exile), we tell them to come here and yes we will respect their right to their religion, and their beliefs, and we will provide money to help celebrate it too. Now don't get me wrong, I know my beliefs are different than a lot of others, but if you move to Canada then god damn it, act like your Canadian!!!!!!! You can celebrate your religion and such but don't freaking force it down my throat and call me a racist if I tell you I don't want to hear about it. All I'm saying is I'm getting tired of bowing down to everyone else. It's like the white Canadian between the ages of 15 to 80 is now becoming the minority in Canada and there is not a damn thing we can do about it!

Ok, now, still on the topic of racism, there is only one other point I want to make here. Natives. Yes, when the white man came to Canada way back in the day, we did hunt them, kill them and forced a lot of rotten things on them (perfect example once again is forcing Christian beliefs on the natives and not respecting their religion). BUT, but but but!!! Why the hell do we have to STILL pay for those things that happened like 200 years ago!!! There is nothing I can do about it nowadays and I'm sick of hearing the government apologizing to the natives over and over and bending over backwards to give them what they want and when they want it. I mean they don't pay taxes (even thought they are Canadian) they get major royalties for gas and oil on "their" lands, they are pushed thru the unemployment lines and get their "welfare" checks sooner than the white people on welfare (yes I know this because I was on welfare for a few months after 3 months of jumping thru hoops for the government and proving I needed it). What I think we should do is get rid of ALL reservations across this country, make the natives pay taxes like the rest of us; get rid of any "treaty cards" where it allows them to hunt and fish year round. And make them (well actually force them) into being a productive part of this country.

Next on my rant is this dual citizenship. Now this blows my mind. How the hell can you be Canadian/American? Or Canadian/German? Or Australian/Canadian? That's total bullshit. If you were born in Canada then you are Canadian, if you were born somewhere else and moved to Canada you are either the country you came from or Canadian. NOT BOTH. You have to make up your mind, either love Canada or get the hell out and leave us alone. It's that simple. I don't think you can have your cake and eat the tub of ice cream too.
