Sadly the cat we adopted died.
The history:
My husbands mom feeds stray cats outside the house, and there's one called Mr. Squeakers....well it's a long haired cat. They call it Mr. Squeakers because they think that as a kitten the owners put a collar on it and soon there after abandoned it...as the cat grew older the collar got tighter and eventually crushed the cats voice box. ...so it couldn't meow.
Well about a week or so ago, Steven went to go pet the cat and felt all this hard stuff...thinking it was the cats bones we offered to put it to sleep, but his mom said the hair was just matted soo badly that that's what it felt like..so we pay for a shot to sedate the cat so it can be groomed.
Well Friday we find out it's not a Mr...but a Miss. And that she's very badly mal-nurished, and diabetic. We go back to the vet on Saturday and he says it's possible to turn her around with just the diet. So we fed her and she did a complete change.
She was running around, jumping up on stuff, purring real loud, and following Steven everwhere he went. I came home from work today early fearing I was having a miscarriage or just my period and found her on the bathroom floor. She couldn't walk, nor would she eat or drink anything...she ketp trying to get up and hide from me(cats try to die alone) but she ket just flopping over. Then she began panting and then stopped breathing, then every few seconds she'd take a big gasp of air, but her eyes were fixed and such.
We rushed her to the vet, but on the way there, she came back and was breathing ok and all. Then when we handed her off to the lady and she took her back to the vet, she died. :-(
