I woke up this morning at 10 to my manager calling telling me I was supposed to be in at 9:45, when the schedule said 11. They had made it before realizing the store would be on holiday hours which means opened 10-6 instead of 10-9. So they remade the schedule but informed no one, so unless you looked at it to check you were screwed. I was screwed.
Other than that my day at work went great, no one bought anything. So it was pointless for me to come in to work today anyways. Oh well, it was still fun to talk to people.
On top of that I just spent my first 4th alone.
Ever since I can remember I have either gone and seen the fireworks with my family or friends, usually both. Then I would come home and light off some more in the yard.
Well this is the first time that I have been completely alone for the fireworks.
My family is back in Naperville, IL, my friends are scattered about the country right now, and the love of my life is 2 hours away in Plainfield, IA. The only plus side is that I may see her tomorrow before she heads back to Naperville for her summer job. But I don't want her to have too long a day tomorrow especially since it would add 4 hours to her drive.
Amazingly I'm still in a great mood even with all of the down sides of the day. My friends have said that I'm too optimistic, "You not only see the glass half full, but you see it even if it's shattered and swept away!"
I take that as a compliment.
I hope all of you had a better overall day than I did, but if you didn't just remember it always gets better.
Peace , Love , Rock and Roll ,
Truly,
James
