for those of you who don't know, i've been feeding and taking care of a stray cat for the past few months. he was looking sickly, so yesterday i made an appointment with our vet to get him checked out. this afternoon i went to our regular meeting spot to feed him and found him dead.

some cool things about deuce kitty:
*we named him after eponine's boyfriend deuce because they have the same markings
*he always waited for me at the base of our stairs when i left for work, and in the parking lot when i came home from work
*the way he meowed for food reminded me of church
*he and the dogs actually liked each other
*he always came when i called him, and would follow me around when i took the dogs out to potty
*he was very sweet and socialized quickly. after just a couple of weeks, he let me pick him up and carry him
*he always melted when i scratched him behind the ears

i never told anyone, even hubby, but had decided that if he was still around when we moved back to texas, i was going to take him with us to officially become a part of our family.

i never took a picture of him (something i regret even more so now) but he looks alot like this cat:

you didn't have many friends in this world, but you had one that loved you enough to make up for it.
